Man arrested by Secret Service at a Romney event worked for the Colorado Democrats

This is getting out of hand. Liberals have a right to free speech, but conservatives don't. One day somebody is going to throw something more severe. What would happen if somebody did that the Obama? Hopefully he will spend time in prison and there he probably will find as much sex as he wants.

On Tuesday night, a student at University of Colorado Denver was arrested by Secret Service for trying to throw glitter at Mitt Romney. Now sources are telling Colorado Peak Politics that the "glitter bomber" worked for the Colorado state Senate Democrats. This session.

The student in question, Peter Smith, faces up to 6 months in prison for "creating a disturbance, throwing a missile and an unlawful act on school property," according to Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson.

Our sources are saying he was fired by the Senate Democrats either yesterday or today.

Glitter bombing has become a tool of liberal gay rights activists who somehow in their deluded minds think that throwing glitter at politicians will change their views on gay marriage.

Just as Occupy Denver thought defecating on public property would reduce income inequality, liberal activists seem to think drawing unflattering attention to themselves will do something other than just embarrass themselves.

What is already a stupid and counterproductive act -- throwing glitter, really? -- becomes much more serious when it is used with a Secret Service protectee. As Roger Simon of Politico has said, the Secret Service has no way of knowing if the substance is glitter or anthrax.

In a video captured by The Denver Post, you can see Mitt Romney moving swiftly out of the way, avoiding the glitter, while the "glitter bomber/Senate Democrat aide" is forcibly ejected from the room by Secret Service.

Senate President Brandon Shaffer -- call your office. You have a public apology to make for your staff.

When was he hired? When was he fired? Did Smith ever mention at work that he intended on attacking Romney at his event? The Senate Democrats have some serious questions to answer and the press needs to ask them.

Peter Smith has said he doesn't regret his act.
Brandon Shaffer, do you regret hiring him?

In no way do I condone what he did, but I find it strange you are more upset by the tossing of glitter than the crushing of gay rights by the Republicans. I question whose priorities are screwed up.

Jack, you hit the nail on the head. Besides, as dull as Mitt Romney is, a little glitter would add some sparkle to his dull campaign
Troy

I think, therefore I'm Liberal.

I am glad that you approve of assault. What would you say if it had been dictator obama that someone did that to. obama only is for gay rights because he wants the gay vote.

Twist things as you will goofy. Now who was it that shot Gabby Giffords in AZ? Plus killed others in his assault. I guess glitter throwing from a liberal is much worse crime than a conservative killing people including children with a handgun. It seems that you like to only display 1 side of the coin.

LOL LOL LOL You equate non-violent tossing of glitter with assault but you can't see taking away gays' rights is FAR worse than assault. Goofy, I'm sorry but THAT is PATHETIC!

Also, I have ALWAYS been a Conservative, but I can accept that my Party can be wrong at times.

it is PATHETIC to throw things at people because you do not agree with their stance. Besides it was liberal California that banned same sex marriage. It was Bill clinton who signed don't ask don't tell. YES it is assualt and this individual should go to jail

If a tea party person had done this to a liberal holy hell would have broken out in the corrupt main stream media.

It is PATHETIC that this people cannot express their opinions without resorting to violence. But that is the liberal way

You seem to be twisting the facts, but that is ok this idiot should go to jail and when somebody does the same to a democrat I hope you are not worried about it.

By the way how is your health these days with your heart problem. I hope you are feeling better and that gets better for you.

Thank you for inquiring about my health. That is just something that I have to live with. I'm doing ok now but I will have that operation coming up in several years. Tonight at work I had 2 people in their mid 30s follow me up a long flight of stairs, they were winded and I was not.

I think the guy throwing the glitter should be arrested. It is the same as robbing a bank with a toy gun, the bank teller that is being robbed does not know that it is a harmless toy gun and is terrified for their life, just as Romney did not know that it was just harmless glitter being thrown at him and was concerned about it.
There have been conservatives that have done far worse things to Democrats than just throw harmless glitter.
It is just that you seem to like to display only 1 side of the coin and ignore the other side. As a moderate I like to look at both sides, anything wrong with that?
So tell me, just how did I twist the facts?

Goofy - EVERYONE, both with Conservatire and Liberal political beliefs is entitled to have opinions and express them. We do not have to agree. Branding ANYONE who does nor share your opinion as a Liberal or whatever is utter nonsence. All Stereotypes and labels are wrong. Some people are better than orhers at seeing both sides of an issue and deciding for themselves how they stand. They do NOT have to be lockstep with party dogma (LOL - At least in Canada).

You did not even read my first comment. If you had, you'd have known I opened it with "In no way do I condone what he did" You immediately sarcastically attacked with "LOL LOL LOL. You condone assault. that is what i expect from liberals." Really! Name-calling! Are we in the school yard? How could you determine that from what I said?

I have voted for the Cdn Conservative Party in EVERY election since I was 18. I stopped when the current leader was elected because I STRONGLY disagree with his politics. He is divisive, vendictive and parochial. He'd fit far closer into American politics than Cdn.

I recognized tossing glitter was technically assault, but it is pretty damn nonviolent. LOL - Think of it as fairy dust. BTW - In Canada, they toss pies at politicians and others. I see the tossing of glitter as a form of nonviolent protest. When you think of how Republican candidates want to strip away gay rights, it is a pretty moderate response. If they were suggesting taking away rights from women or blacks, things would get a lot more heated. But for some unknown reason, you and some other bloggers on here feel gays are a fair target and support politicians that would deny gays any right. That is your right. I do not understand this. That is what I said in my original comment.

XOXO

I remember thinking that foriegn guy sure needed some throwing lessons when he threw his shoes at bush.If one of those shoes had hit him it might have been considered assault.Throwing glitter is far from being a assault charge.I know, and have known quite a few liberals that could throw a mean left hook.Id hate to be known as the(hopefull) president that could not handle glitter being thrown at him.Football player douse their coachs with gatorade and ice.I guess those coachs could call that assault..Goofy I hope you republicans get your Whitehouse back.Yall fuxcked up the country, then tried to blame the black man.Another 4 years of a cunt like bush, and there want be social security for your azzz..Peace..steven

Glitter bombing is "technically assault and battery" according to Mark R. Vernazza, a legal associate at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP,To me its just a bunch of cowardly idiots who can't express themselves in an adult manner. Reminds me of Richard Simmons.

What if that got in their eyes?

But they are egged on by Their President Odumbo,So cant really blame them alone. He is a big fan of violence. “I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.“ Barack Obama '08

As usual, full of crap.

Well rick, if Odumbo as you call him is smarter than you, then just how far down the ladder are you for smarts. It is a FACT that he is smarter than you because he is the president and you are just an internet tough guy that has to post your BS on a gay website. If you were as tough as you think you are, you wouldn't be here.
