The title of the post is the title of the Whitney Houston song that will always come to mind first when I hear or read her name. Why? Not because I believe it to be her most beautiful song. But because when that song was new and being played in every gay bar on earth, a cute young man walked up to me and asked me to dance ... which led to a 3 year relationship that was both heaven and hell ... ended because of the hell.

So here are the songs of hers that I will always remember as hers ... and beautiful for varied reasons: Didn't We Almost Have It All, Greatest Love Of All, One Moment In Time, The Greatest Love Of All, I Will Always Love You, and Where Do Broken Hearts Go.

Of those, "One Moment In Time," I believe, is the most meaningful and beautiful.

Which of her songs has the most meaning to you???

    I always liked "where do broken hearts go" the best. She sang "i will always love you" well also, but i wish the media would play other songs during segments about her.
Hey there! That was a great song!!! Sad, but great! Thanks for sharing and take care!

    I wanna dance with somebody. It was a great ice breaker at the bars and brings back great memories of the times I used it that worked.

Hey Glen! I recall such vividly also. It was the song that ended up with me fucking Craig F. ... who was so cute ... and such a great liar, lol! Thanks for sharing and take care!

    I seem to remember hearing somewhere that Whitney Houston was a cousin or niece or some relation like that to Dionne Warwick. A friend of mine who is in the TV production business did some videos for Whitney back in the 90s, and I was amazed by what she could do. I'm sorry she had such a battle with drugs.

    Hard to pick a favorite. I would probably vote for "Saving All My Love For You," one of her early hits.
Hey there! I recall having heard or read that years ago...looked it up while ago, and,yes, she was a cousin of Dionne Warwick. When her battle with drugs and that thing she married got so outlandishly public and out of control, I admit that I stopped paying attention to her. I still listened to her music though! To me, she became a sad, weak person who was letting life get out of control. Thanks for sharing that experience from close up!!! Take care!

    Hey Whitney;

    I wasn't a huge fan of hers. Gay bars have never been my thing. Her most memorable song for me would be "Didn't We Almost Have it All". For some reason, I always thought she was older than me.

Hey T!!! For some reason, reading that she was 48 struck me as wrong also. Only 48, wow! Thanks and take care!

    I wasn't really a fan, but I did think that the tune "Greatest Love of All' was used to brilliant comedic effect in Eddie Murphy's "Coming to American" ~ and of course I love Dolly's original version of "I Will Always Love You," and think 'tis unfortunate that this song is being performed by Jennifer-InevermetanoteIcouldn'tsingintooblivion-Hudson [yuck!], and I hope she was 2nd choice after Dolly.
Hey there! I believe that it would have only been fair to have Dolly sing it ... I always think of it as her song!!! Thanks and take care!
